Nogent Classic 4-1/2-Inch Serrated Steak Knife, Light Wood Handle Overview

The Nogent factory was founded in 1923 in the Champagne village of Biesles France - an area steeped in history where the tradition of manufacturing knives has been carried out since the middle ages. All production steps are quality controlled by long-term and experienced personnel which guarantees very reliable products designed for longevity and a lifetime of use. 42 successive operations in ten different workshops are required to produce a knife or kitchen utensil worthy of the Nogent name. Nogent Classic Cutlery is found in kitchens all over France, a traditional design which has been tried and tested for three generations. The hand finished, satin-finish blade is molybdenum stainless steel, containing 0.50-percent carbon, 15-percent chrome and Molybdenum. The blade has a Rockwell hardness of 56-58. An extra strong tang is securely held in the handle with aluminum rivets. The warm and comfortable-to-the-touch handle is made of solid natural hornbeam wood, dried for one year at the factory before processing. All the wood used in production comes from managed sustainable sources.
